Randall's Just Desserts: What a Fabulous Night!

(pictured above, Susan Gray with heavy-lifter Brad Weaver)

Ottawa's animals have a true friend: Susan Gray! Susan and I first met last fall when I spotted a woman walking her beagle down the hall at CHUM Radio. Not something you see every day. Susan had organized a very successful SPCA fundraiser in Victoria called 'Just Desserts', and having moved back to Ottawa, she wanted to bring the event here- with all proceeds to the Ottawa Humane Society Building Campaign. Last night, over 200 people packed the studios of 'A' Television and BOB FM to nosh on sumptuous desserts, bid on auction items, and enjoy a beautiful evening - and when all was said and done, over $18,000 was raised for the animals!! Congratulations Susan! We hope we can talk you into doing this again next year!

And HUGE thanks to our title sponsor Randall's and Shade-O-Matic! Thanks as well to Focus Eye Centre, Shine Rejuvenation and Plastic Surgery, and Mortgage Brokers Ottawa, and to Leon's Furniture for donating bodies to help out!

Thank you to PM Event Services!
And to graphic designer extra-ordinaire, Mallory Lynn Giles for creating the beautiful ads and posters! Your dedication to this event is so appreciated!

And our participating restaurants, pastry chefs, wineries and Beau's Beer, who DONATED everything for 'Randall's Just Desserts': THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Cuba Gooding Junior Slammed Me into a Wall!!

Had a blast on the set of the film 'Sacrifice' today, an exciting thriller being shot here and starring Cuba Gooding Junior and Christian Slater. Thank you to ZED Filmworks and Ilona Smyth from Smyth Casting for allowing us to offer one listener (plus guest) the chance to be 'extras' on set today- BOB listener Jeff Brohman and his buddy Lee also had a great time! Stuntman Stu and I played two 'media people' (bit of a stretch!) and in one very pivotal scene, ok, one quick scene, Cuba Gooding Junior needs to rush by us (quickly!) so he pushed me into a wall. Best. Afternoon. Ever.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Now we're talking!

Yikes!!!

Jeff Morris from the Manotick Messenger took a photo of Stuntman Stu and I at the Wine Cellar in Manotick last week, on the occasion of a 'Wine Pouring Night' for Stuntman Stu Red Line Merlot (a fundraiser for the Sens foundation). I was hamming it up but never thought in a million years that a photo of me (with Stu) would appear on the FRONT COVER of today's 'Manotick Messenger', with my TONGUE HANGING OUT! (original photo is over on Stuntman Stu's blog on this website). It has come to my attention that my tongue is as big, if not bigger, than my dog, Bode the big-faced Bernese mountain dog. At least I may be up for first prize in a dog-owner look-a-like contest.
