Today was an absolutely stellar day! My good friend, photographer Michelle Valberg and I dragged ourselves out of bed at a ridiculously early hour to head out to Mud Lake for some birding. We were rewarded big time! Geese, mallards, herons, a chatty cardinal, and much to our amazement, Michelle and I saw our first ever wood duck. He even posed for our cameras! Best. Day. Ever.
