Blue Rodeo Sneak Peak!
An incredible evening last night at the Black Sheep in Wakefield! Blue Rodeo's Greg Keelor and Jim Cuddy performed an intimate 'sneak peak' of tunes from the band's latest album 'The Things We Left Behind' (release date, next Tuesday) The show was acoustically beautiful, with Greg and Jim's signature harmonies sounding better than ever. The audience enjoyed a special bonus: Ottawa's own Kathleen Edwards opened the show and joined Greg and Jim for several songs, adding her own smoky brand of back-up vocals. The boys were relaxed, playful, there were lots of laughs and it was a rare opportunity to see them in such an intimate setting (big contrast to their show before 30,000 people in July at Bluesfest!) I have been wearing out my 'preview' copy of Blue Rodeo's new CD 'The Things We Left Behind'. A double CD, all new material, classic Blue Rodeo. five stars out of five for this one. For any Blue Rodeo fan, getting this album is a must. Get to know the songs, then get set to see Blue Rodeo at Scotiabank Place on February 14th.
(p.s. congratulations to Paul Symes and the Black Sheep Inn, voted Canada's NUMBER ONE live music venue!! For this honour, Martha Wainright will be writing and recording a song about the Black Sheep. Well deserved!! )
